Quotidian

Quotidian explores how sexual violence permeates everyday life and the ways silence is maintained across both public and private spaces. Drawing on police reports, news coverage and personal testimonies, I create self portraits within ordinary yet emotionally charged locations, confronting the lingering presence of violence within familiar environments.

Working across photography and sound, the project combines still images with recorded testimonies, encouraging viewers not only to look but also to listen. By placing myself within the frame, I blur the boundaries between witness, subject and storyteller, exploring questions surrounding visibility, vulnerability and the ethics of representation.

At its core, Quotidian examines how violence becomes embedded within daily life, shaping how bodies move through space and exist within the world. Through self portraiture and testimony, the work reflects on solidarity, responsibility and the importance of collective witnessing, inviting viewers to consider the unseen realities that exist alongside the ordinary.
