Imogen Glanville is a documentary photographer whose work explores feminism, intimacy and the politics of looking. Her practice often begins with questions of visibility: how women are represented, how they construct their own identities, and how photography can reclaim agency within spaces shaped by power. She is drawn to quiet, emotionally charged moments that reveal how gender and lived experience intersect in everyday life.
Working across photography and mixed media, Glanville merges personal and political narratives, often blurring the line between subject and storyteller. Collaboration and care are central to her process, whether photographing others or including herself within the work. Through these exchanges, she explores how intimacy, vulnerability and representation can feel both empowering and unsettling.
Influenced by the emotional honesty of Kaitlin Maxwell and the feminist theory of Joey Soloway, her work examines how representation shapes perception and memory. Her images linger on the emotional textures of everyday life, exploring themes of safety, selfhood and belonging within contemporary womanhood. Through documentary storytelling, moving image and collaborative practice, Glanville uses photography as a space for empathy, resistance and reflection.
